England captain Dave Pawsey (Bristol) is the 2009 ESTFA National Champion, after a sudden death shootout victory over Wolverhampton’s Chris Short. The game finished 0-0 after extra time. Both players qualify to represent England in the World Cup in Rotterdam this September. The semifinalists were Adrian Ritoridis (Nottingham) and Chris Thomas (Middlesbrough).
In the Veterans category, previous champion Phil Redman (Liverpool) had to make do with 2nd place and a World Cup spot after being pipped by Luton’s Steve Hawkins.
Brandon Lavender (Worthing) is the new U15 champion, beating London’s Elliott Bellefontaine into 2nd place. Again both qualify for the World Cup.
In the team championships held on Saturday, English Premier League are champions after a final game win against North East TFA. These are our 2 entries for the Europa Cup in Belgium. TSPA White Star and Yorkshire Phoenix are our 2 reserve entries.
A full results file and pictures will follow soon.

The 2009 ESTFA AGM will take place at the White Bear pub, near Leeds on Saturday 25th July at 2pm. It would be good if more members become involved in the running of our Association, so please come along if you can.
The White Bear is next to Junction 28 of the M62 motorway. Exit the roundabout for Bradford & Morley A650, and the car park entrance is 1st left. Postcode for your Satnav is WF3 1LA or WF3 1JX, depending on which website you look ! However either should get you to the M62/A650 roundabout and then you can’t miss it.
